Shortly before Christmas 2024, the Machine Learning and Optimization (MALEO) group at Paderborn University said a heartfelt goodbye to Heinz-Georg Wassing, a valued technician and colleague, as he embarked on his well-deserved retirement.

This week Heike Trautmann (MALEO group leader) gave a keynote talk at 2nd International Conference on Data Science & Artificial Intelligence (DS&AI) in Medan-Parapat (Indonesia). The main goal of the DSAI 2024 conference series is to contribute to the growth of data science and artificial intelligence knowledge. Heikes keynote talk was entitled Towards Automated Artificial Intelligence via Automated Algorithm Selection (find out more on the official website).

New PhD Student

This week Carolin Mensendiek joined our group as a PhD student! Carolin earned her Master's degree in Business Information Systems from Paderborn University specializing in Operations Research and Machine Learning in 2024. Welcome!
